What:                            The Artist Project, Independent Artist Exhibition and Sale

 

A new art exhibition dedicated to independent artists of two-dimensional, mixed media, photography and sculpture that will coincide with Art Chicago, hosted by The Merchandise Mart. 

 

The Artist Project will be a distinct element of ARTropolis -- a world-class, citywide celebration of arts, antiques and culture with Art Chicago at its centerpiece.  ARTropolis is expected to attract an elite clientele of collectors, curators and guests from around the world to dynamic artistic experiences throughout Chicago.

 

Where:                       The Artist Project will be presented at 350 West Mart Center Drive, adjacent to the world-famous Merchandise Mart in Chicago.

 

Who:                             In its inaugural year, The Artist Project expects to feature up to 50 artists

primarily from throughout the United States.  The application deadline is December 1, 2006.  Artists can apply online at www.theartistproject.net.

 

Why:                              For many years, art galleries large and small around Chicago have taken

advantage of the swell of art activities and attention brought on by Art

Chicago.  The Artist Project is designed to give unaffiliated artist a similar      platform.

 

When:                          April 27 – 30, 2007

 

Preview

Event:                          The Artist Project Preview Night will be celebrated

on Thursday, April 26, 2007 and benefit the Chicago ArtistsŐ Coalition
